About the challenge

Hosted by BTG, EVC, and AIG, BoothHacks is your opportunity to bring ideas to life, collaborate across disciplines, and experience the creative energy of building something from the ground up. BoothHacks welcomes all UChicago Booth students (Full-Time, Part-Time, MiM, and MiF) to brainstorm, prototype, and pitch innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

Get started
1. Teams must be comprised of 1-5 people 
2. All team members must register and complete their payment on this BoothGroups event
3. One team member must fill out the Google Form and register all other members
4. At least one member must attend in-person on November 14th @ Gleacher
5. All members must be current Booth students (FT, EW, PT, MiM, MiF)

What to Build

This year's prizes are sponsored by Booth centers and student groups across venture capital, AI, tech, and impact. Teams can submit for one or more categories - judges will evaluate based on the following criteria:

  • Customer EmpathyHow clearly does the project identify a real user need and potential to make a meaningful difference for that user? 
  • Business Acumen - Does the project show a viable business or impact model? Is there clear understanding of the market landscape, differentiation, and potential for scale? 
  • Product Design - How well-designed, intuitive, and creative is your product? Does the project clearly communicate its core value and functionality?
What to Submit

Submit this Devpost by Friday, 12 pm; you must fill out the following:

  • Project title and description
  • Team members
  • Problem statement and solution overview
  • Lovable Demo link
  • Any additional screenshots, supporting information, etc

You may continue to code and refine your project on Lovable until 3 pm. Judges will review what is live at that time. Judging and Awards will take place on Friday between 3 - 5 pm. Winners will be announced during closing remarks.

Judging Criteria

  • User Empathy
    Depth of understanding of the user problem and potential impact. Project clearly identifies a real, meaningful problem and shows deep empathy for the target user; impact is well-articulated and evidence-based.
  • Business Impact
    Quality of strategic thinking, market understanding, and path to value creation and scale. Project presents a thoughtful, viable path to creating and capturing value.
  • Product Design
    Creativity, user-centered design, and clarity of MVP. Project is intuitive, engaging, and clearly communicates the value proposition.
